For the most accurate results, we recommend following these preparation guidelines:
If you have any questions regarding your InBody appointment, contact us.
Upon arriving, we will utilize a device known as a stadiometer to accurately measure your height (this is only required for your first scan).
Next, you will need to use a pre-moistened towelette to wipe your hands and feet to remove any excess oil and/or dirt from your skin. This will improve impedance and therefore will improve the accuracy of your scan.
Next, after removing items from your pockets, jewelry, and/or any excess clothing (e.g., jackets, hoodies, etc), you will step onto the scanner.
The scan itself will take only 30-45 seconds.
Finally, our provider will spend approximately 30 minutes reviewing the scan with you, answering any questions, and helping you to define goals.

The body weight is the sum of Body Fat Mass and Lean Body Mass, which is composed of Dry Lean Mass and Total Body Water. Total Body Water is the sum of Intracellular Water and Extracellular Water. Extracellular Water is the total amount of water outside the body’s cell. Maintain a balanced body composition to stay healthy.
Compare the bar lengths of Skeletal Muscle Mass and Body Fat Mass. The longer the Skeletal Muscle Mass bar is compared to the Body Fat Mass bar, the stronger the body is. Skeletal Muscle Mass is the Amount of Muscle attached to the bones. Body Fat Mass is the sum of the subcutaneous fat, visceral fat, and fat surrounding muscles. Subcutaneous fat is found beneath the skin, while visceral fat is found surrounding internal organs in the abdomen.
PBF: Percent Body Fat is the percentage of body fat compared to body weight.
BMI: Body Mass Index is an index used to determine obesity by using height and weight.
Evaluates whether the muscles are adequately developed in the body. The top bar shows the comparison of muscle mass ideal weight while the bottom bar shows that to current weight.
ECW/TBW, the ratio of Extracellular Water to Total Body Water, is an important indicator of whether the body water is balanced. If your ECW/TBW is higher than .390, please consult your physician.
Track the history of body compositional changes. Take the InBody Test periodically to monitor your progress. COntinuously measuring under the same ID allows the InBody to save each test for future comparison. The Body Composition History allows an individual to track the changes in body composition over their most recent eight results or cumulative graph that shows the progress from the first test results to the most recent results.
Visceral Fat Level is an indicator based on the estimated amount of fat surrounding internal organs in the abdomen. Maintain a Visceral Fat Level under 10 to stay healthy.
Basal metabolic rate is the minimal rate of energy expenditure at rest. It accounts for 60-75% of the daily calorie expenditure by individuals.
